Where Fulcrum Stands on Peptides
Recovery Pillar | 5 min read
You've probably seen it in your feed: BPC-157, semaglutide, growth hormone secretagogues, all promising faster recovery, better body composition, an edge on aging. It's come up enough in conversations around Fulcrum that we think it's worth saying plainly where we stand.
Short version: we don't know enough yet, and neither does the research. Here's the longer version.
This Isn't Our Lane
Fulcrum is a training studio. We're not physicians, we don't run labs, and we don't prescribe anything — and we're not going to pretend otherwise on a topic like this. Peptide protocols are a medical decision, made with someone qualified to evaluate your bloodwork, your history, and your actual physiology. That's not a coach's call to make, no matter how well-read the coach is.
The Research Genuinely Isn't Settled
Some peptides have real clinical research behind specific, regulated uses. A lot of what circulates in fitness and longevity spaces is different: compounds used off-label, sourced outside any regulated supply chain, at doses and combinations nobody has actually studied long-term. "People are talking about it" and "the science supports it" are not the same thing, and it's easy to lose track of that distinction when a trend is moving fast.
The part that concerns us most isn't the science — it's the supply chain. Independent purity testing on gray-market peptide products has repeatedly turned up real problems: incorrect dosing, contamination, products that don't contain what the label claims. When a compound sits outside a regulated pipeline, you have very little assurance about what's actually in the vial. That risk lands on you, not the seller.
If You're Considering It
Have that conversation with a licensed physician who can actually evaluate your situation — ideally one working through a legitimate clinical pathway, not a gray-market supplier or a clinic that will write for anything. Ask about sourcing, dosing, and monitoring. If those questions don't have clear answers, that's information too.
We're not telling you not to look into it. We're telling you we're not the ones to guide that decision, and we'd rather say that clearly than pretend we have a firm opinion the evidence doesn't support yet. We'll keep watching the research and the regulatory picture, and if that changes, we'll say so.
What We Can Actually Do
Recovery is one of Fulcrum's Four Pillars, and it's not just a supplement conversation — it's sleep, stress load, movement quality, and how well your programming matches what your body can currently handle. That's the part of the recovery equation that's fully in our lane, and it's the part that pays off regardless of what else you decide to pursue.
Our job stays the same either way: build the strength, movement quality, and resilience your body can rely on. If you have questions about how recovery fits into your program, that's a conversation your coach is always up for.
